Amethyst and Spiritualism.
For those who follow the Wicca, New Age or believe in the Spirit World, Crystals, Minerals, Rocks, Semi-Precious Stones and metals can have powers for Astral Travel, Aura Cleansing, Channeling, Cosmic Awareness, Crystal Healing, ESP, Meditation, Psychic Communication, Psychic Energy and Transcendental Meditation. Amethyst and Transition
Amethyst has come to be known by many as a healing stone that helps to ease any difficulties in transition in any circumstance. Great healers have found that amethyst works to not only aide a journeying soul but also helps those who's soul yearn to achieve higher levels of spirituality. The crystal is said to transform energies from a lower vibration to a higher vibrational energy. It also transforms energy from a ordinary to a deeper level of consciousness. It has the capacity to awaken spirituality on all levels of social, emotional, intellectual and physical consciousness. Amethyst aides it's carrier (stone, crystal, power jewelry) find more easily a common ground in unsure decisions. The violet color is reminiscent of that of the sky at dusk and the passage of one reality to another. It prevails as the birthstone for Sagittarius (November 22- December 21) along with sapphire. Sagittarius has always been known as a free spirit and can be, at times, wild yet always wanting to explore. Amethyst has also been accredited as a birthstone for Aquarius (January 20- February 18) due to its traditional standing as February's birthstone. Amethyst as a Birthstone
Within the mystical New Age movement and within popular culture, amethyst birthstone is recognized as the birthstone for February. This association has also carried over into Modern, Traditional, Hindu Astrology, and Ayurvedic systems of birthstone and month classification. Purple Amethyst, adorned as jewelry (necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, etc.) or carried in stone or crystal form, has been known to bring tranquility and stability to its wearer. It has also been known to possess great healing powers.

Amethyst Day, Hour and Color
It is a little known fact that amethyst is related to a specific day, time and to color. This purple stone is the official crystal or gem for Wednesday. It has also been known as the gem most representative of the 8:00 am hour. The color amethyst represents is the color purple, which is also the color for February. They have been mining it and metallics for this purpose for centuries.

Amethyst and Religious Association
In religion, Amethyst is also an affiliate of one of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, one of the Twelve Apostles and one of the Angels. Because man has been mining Amethyst for a very long time, the classification of Tribal stones has been translated and the stones represented have been appointed through their modern name. The Tribe that is linked to amethyst is the tribe of Dan. The stone was said to be proclaimed stone of the families that flourished from this tribe. The Apostle Matthias and the Guardian Angel Adnachiel spirit are also coupled with and symbolized by amethyst.

Amethyst and Healing.

Mental Healing
Amethyst as a healing stone contains sobering and calming qualities which allow this stone to be commonly associated with peace. Amethyst is known to calm and protect the mind. It soothes those who have engaged in constant rigorous mental activity. It has been deemed "nature's tranquilizer" by many healers because of it's effectiveness in relaxing not only the mind but also the nervous system. Those who wear amethyst jewelry and who have been recommended to wear this stone for healing purposes have done so because of its tranquil qualities and it's ability reduce negativity and alleviate anxiety.

Besides being a stone of tranquility and repose, amethyst is also known to enhance mental strength, stability, and vigor. Amethyst and the Chakras

Amethyst is related to and found to heal and align ailments of the the 6th and 7th Chakras, which are the Third Eye or Brow (6th) and the Crown (7th).

The 7th Chakra, or the Crown controls the energies used in any mental activity. Amethyst helps to relieve strain or tension in this area. It is considered a helpful aide in meditation and in the facilitation of psychic visual enhancement. It is used on the Crown to allow past life recall to emerge. It's tranquil sobering effect allows those who are energetic to relax. It also is a cure for insomnia and nightmares and makes the intuition sensitive to understanding that outside of scientific reasoning.

Physical Healing
Along with the many mental benefits of amethyst healing, there are also many physical afflictions for which the healing powers of amethyst are a remedy. As an elixir (solution as a medicinal substance) amethyst can be used to treat toothaches, skeletal discomforts, posture and other bone and joint-related sicknesses (like arthritis). In elixir form amethyst also cures problems within the stomach and digestive tract, the heart and hearing disorders. It has been known to treat various types of blood disease and balancing blood sugar. Amethyst as a healing stone or crystal is used to treat and heal problems involving the central nervous system. Amethyst is a treatment for both convulsions and neuralgia.
