Wicca in Every Day Life.
As with religions like Christianity and Judaism, Wiccans should try to integrate their religion into their everyday lives. It isn't just about the spells, rituals and festivals. You can try simple things like trying to "feel" a person’s energy when you are speaking to them, trying to get to know the elements when working with them, such as realising the abilities and feeling the power of the element Water when washing the dishes, or recognising the power of the element Air when you are out for a walk. Think about how each element moves - fast or slow? Gentle or harshly? In each new thing you learn try to think of the spiritual lesson to be learnt there too.
Here are a few things to do each day to help focus on a Wiccan lifestyle. These are from the book "Living Wicca" by Scott Cunningham:
1. Honour the god and goddess daily- say a prayer, make an offering to them with incense or light a candle for them.
2. Write about your journey in your Book of Shadows.
3. Plant and tend to a garden or keep potted plants around the house.
4. Meditate daily. You don't have to spend hours, just take some time in the morning or evening, whenever you are free.
5. Take a walk outside- go to a park, walk in the woods, walk in the moonlight and be aware of the spirit in the trees, grass, all parts of the earth and nature.
6. Experiment with divination.
7. Interact with other Wiccans. If you don't know any, find a Wiccan chat room or message board online.
8. Write new rituals and spells. Write chants, poems.
9. Listen to Pagan music.
10. Make an herbal satchel.
We shouldn't only be practicing Wicca every time we do a spell, or only going to the God and/or Goddess every time we want something. Whatever path you follow, you should integrate your beliefs into your life and how you lead it.
